Oviraptor

The first complete fossil of Oviraptor was discovered in Mongolia just a few feet from a nest of fossilized Protoceratops eggs. It is very likely that the Oviraptor was about to make a meal of the eggs when an angry adult Protoceratops caught it in the act and killed it. For that reason Oviraptor got its name, which means "egg thief."
Oviraptor was an unusual dinosaur. Measuring five to six feet long, it had a short head and a massive pair of toothless jaws shaped like a beak. With strong muscles in its mouth, Oviraptor must have had a powerful bite that was useful for breaking through hard surfaces, such as the eggs of other dinosaurs. Another interesting feature was a unique crest above Oviraptor's snout that was full of air passages and openings for its nose.

My deepest fear is to say a speech in front of a BIG crowd. I remember once in Primary 3, I had to go up to the stage in front of the whole school just to answer a question and got awarded with a notebook. It was very terrifying!!! This is called stage fright. Never mind, I'm quite used to it already. Got to go, bye bye... ^_^

about Ankylosaurus

Ankylosaurus was a huge armored dinosaur, measuring about 25-35 feet (7.5-10.7 m) long, 6 feet (1.8 m) wide and 4 feet (1.2 m) tall; it weighed roughly 3-4 tons.

Ok.I will go straight 2 the point.I'm afraid of ghosts,heights and errr.....exams.(only the person with a hyperfast robotic brains is not afraid.)Well, luckily,the zipline at the P5 camp lowered the fear rate a LITTLE.A little.Because of the fear of ghosts, i have to be with someone in the same room with me at night or else i'll freak out.Every single strange noise will make me jump.I also have to sleep facing the cupboard for fear that they appear from there and err you know.......I won't appear in school the next mornin'.Adios amigos!

What I've learnt from English Lessons

I've learnt many discoveries during my English lesson on the Moon & Mars. I also learnt how do people place man-made satellites in the Earth's orbit.

The Moon is our planet's (Earth) natural satellite. Scientists & many other people are contributing on how to bring people to the Moon to prevent overcrowding on Earth. So far, twelve astronauts have landed on the Moon. They have found out that the moon rocks are made of many elements such as metals & titanium. The first colonists will grow food on the moon first so when the second colonists arrive, they can eat the food straight away.

People are also trying to travel to Mars. However, they send robots instead as it is cheaper & might save human lives. They have found ice on Mars too. People will mine the ice & melt it to create water.

People might also want to travel to other planets or satellites but that is another story.

I feel that the moon is a very exciting planet that can be researched on. I think that life on moon is a very good idea as it can let people know more about the planets. But one thing that people must be careful of is that they must recycle the air and they must also wear special equipments. Colonists on moon is a possible idea where people can live in but I think that they should build a colony where air is aouto regenerated.

I think they should create more robots for researching the moon rocks and explore the moon. If the moon really turns into a space city, I wish I could be the first to live on the moon. :)

SINGAPORE : A woman who died after giving birth to twins had succumbed to Disseminated Intra-vascular Coagulopathy (DIVC), an acute blood coagulation problem arising from massive bleeding and transfusion. In a statement, a Raffles Hospital spokesman said 44-year-old Madam Swee Lay Kuan - who had a twin pregnancy - was admitted on July 5 for bleeding. This was a result of a low-lying placenta (Placenta Praevia). While in the ward, she continued to have bleeding. As there was a continuing threat of premature labour, and in the interests of the twins' safety, Madam Swee was scheduled for Caesarean section on July 7. During surgery, massive bleeding was encountered and emergency blood transfusion was immediately started. The hospital obtained further units of blood from the Centre for Transfusion Medicine (CTM). The spokesman added that as is customary in cases like this, relatives and well-wishers were requested to assist in replenishing of the stocks at CTM. Madam Swee was given large amounts of blood and blood products while she was in the Intensive Care Unit. But she developed and subsequently succumbed to DIVC, an acute blood coagulation problem. The Bloodbank@HSA said blood is provided to all patients at all times, based on clinical needs. And all bleeding emergencies are given first priority. Madam Swee's family had suspected that she died because the hospital did not have enough blood in its supply. According to the family, hospital staff had told them that its blood supply was running low. Madam Swee's husband, Jason Low, said a hospital staff told him that a request for more blood would have to be approved by higher authorities. And if the family wanted more blood, they would have to round up others to donate some at the blood bank. So on Sunday morning (8 July), about 200 of their relatives and friends turned up to donate blood at the blood bank. And the family said blood was released after that. But Madam Swee died that night. Her death certificate states that she died of cardio-respiratory failure, pending an investigation. Her family is appreciative of the hard work put in by hospital staff, but they felt that the process of withdrawing blood was too slow. In response, the Bloodbank@HSA said all requests for blood and blood products for Madam Swee were fully supported. And that the supply of blood is not dependant on replacement donation. Every hospital holds units of emergency blood which can be given to patients immediately during any bleeding emergency. If there is sudden, unanticipated, massive bleeding emergency, the hospital will send a sample of the patient's blood to the Bloodbank for group and cross matching. The blood is then issued to the hospital porter immediately after cross matching, which can be processed within 30 minutes.

SHANGHAI, China - Chinese gymnast Wang Yan is making a "truly miraculous" recovery after breaking her neck in a horrific fall at last month's national championships and has regained some ability to move her arm and legs, according to newspaper reports Thursday.
Wang, 16, fell on her head on June 10 while performing a routine on the uneven bars at the national titles in Shanghai, a key test ahead of next year's Beijing Summer Olympics.
Her second and third vertebrae were fractured, an injury that doctors told newspapers results in death in 98.5 percent of cases.
However, just weeks later, Wang has been moved out of intensive care at Shanghai's No. 6 People's Hospital and is able to lift her legs and right arm above her body, the Liberation Daily newspaper reported.
"Those on the scene were pleasantly surprised. To recover to this level is truly miraculous," the paper said.
Doctors operated June 19 to repair the fractures and have ordered a three-month program of six hours of daily physical rehabilitation exercises and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which forces more oxygen into the bloodstream and is believed to speed recovery of chronic injuries.
"She has managed to conquer the most dangerous period," Dr. Tan Shensheng told the Shanghai Daily.
Wang's injury is similar to one suffered by Chinese gymnast Sang Lan at the 1998 Goodwill Games in New York. Sang broke her neck making a practice vault and is confined to a wheelchair.

Now, I am going to tell you all about me. I am Michelle Teo from 5C. I have a family of 5 which includes, my mother, my father, my two younger brothers and I. One of my brother is in P3 while the other one is still in K1. They are both as mischievous as a monkey, maybe even worse then that. HAHA...
My hobbies are playing netball, playing computer games, watching television programmes, swimming, and many more... My CCA in school is playing netball. It is a very fun and interesting sport. Before the June Holiday, we even won a trophy for the school as we managed to get the 2nd in the east zone! Now we are playing in the nationals already. Just started.

My June Holiday

Hello everybody and welcome back to 5c. After a whole 1 month holiday, it's back to school again, which means that it is study study & study! Never mind, this is childhood life. Well, my June holiday was quite fun but not as fun as before. I only went to the Primary 5 camp, maths workshop which lasted for 4 days, Sentosa, went out with friends, swimming... and that's about all.
The P5 3 days 2 nights camp was extremely fun and I was very ecstatic (happy). It was very interesting too! The camp was from 28 May~30 May.
The maths workshop was from 4 June~7 June. Quite tired...but very educational. :) I attend swimming lessons every Saturday morning, 8.15am to 9.30am. I like swimming though it's quite tired at times.
Fathers' Day is on the 17 June(Sunday) and my 11th birthday happened to fall on the next day, 18 June(Monday). So, as my dad needs to work on Monday, we went out for a feast to celebrate both Fathers' Day and my birthday. :P OK, that's about all. Now, let's wait for the December holiday to arrive. HAHAHA... :) ^_^

My Holidays

I had a wonderful time during my holidays. During that period, I went for the Maths workshop that lasted 4 days.
I have to say that I learnt alot from it.

After that, I would go to the student care that is just behind the school. Over there, they give us assessments for us to do. After that, we are allowed to play computer games.

I also went for a 3 day and 2 night camp. I also learnt many things there and did many very fun activities.

But as for the rest of the holidays, I spent the rest of my time at student care.

My holidays were great! I was not really relaxed as I had to do lots of assesments and school work to complete. As my mum and dad did not have time to take care of my sister and I, I had to stay at my grandma's house. Other then golfing, swimming ang going to the library, I did not go out much. But I did go out with Miss Tay for a movie. And I remembered getting a fever that lasted a whole week, I even had to go for a blood test as the doctor suspected it was dengue. I thought I dreaded going back to school, but last night when I was going to sleep, I had a mixture of excitement and nervousness in me, it is hard to explain......

Actually i can say that i had a super enjoyable holiday.....Firstly...I went to China with the school(school immersion programme). We had a lot of fun there. Of course i missed my parents.....The best thing in HangZhou was the bamboo rafting. I shared a room with Siyun and i tell you if you are not a clean person, she will make you one. Why do i say that? I CANT EVEN EAT A CHOCOLATE IN THE ROOM!!!!! Well...but i did not care, i was hungry!!!! After HangZhou, we went to ShangHai..The hotel was creepy. We went to their school but one thing is that do they even know we were there???? Their chinese was interesting and very fun. They all were very enthusiastic....the teacher shout 123 and they would raise their hands...the first one to raise their hands will get to answer questions and earn point for their group.....Their class only have 28 people(around there) I was surprised when i knew that they only so little people. After China I went to HongKong. Actually that trip was for my parents and my brother =D but i went along of course. It was different from china because we had to move around ourselves, we took the MTR(train like singapore MRT) around HongKong. The unlucky thing was that we did not get to go to disneyland because we thought that it would rain...no more time ler....zzzzzz

my school holidays...

I went to china for an immersion programme with some other kids from our school together with the principal and 3 other teachers during the june school holidays.We visited many interesting places of china and also visited a school there. We stayed there for 10 days. It was real fun! This trip was both memorable and enjoyable for me. A few days after i came back from the trip, i went to watch the movie 'Shrek 3' with my cousins. We find it very funny and we kept laughing while watching the show. I also went to my another cousin's house to play from morning till late at night. The journey to his house was very long cause he lives in Bukit Timah. For the rest of the days i studied, played computer games, read some books watched tv and of course i did my homework. Well, thats all I can say about my school holidays:)

Well, during the holidays, i went to Sentosa and sat the monorail over there from Vivo City. As my father was working, he did not come with my mother, brother and me. We played the Luge and sat the chair lift which was quite fun but a little scary. After much fun, we had to go home. I was sad but all good things must come to an end. I often played badminton with my brother. Thats all i can say about my June holidays. :) Soon, it was back to the normal life, going to school.

My School Holidays

My school holidays was quite boring. I played computer all day and did my holiday homework. I went to my relative's wedding dinner on Sunday 3 June. The foods there was delicious! I ate shark's fin, abalone, chilli crab, etc. I watched the movie "Shrek 3" It was rather funny and my family members enjoyed wacthing it.

I went to Balestia with my family to eat breakfast at a hotel. The foods at the buffet was delicious! After breakfast, I went shopping at the nearby megastore. You can find all sorts of things there. Like wheelchairs, toys, electronics, jewellery, etc.

I spent my June Holidays in KL Malaysia for my church camp. I feel that during the camp, my family gets to spend more time together. There was a telematch and guess what.......... My Group won! MyHoliday.....

Although my holiday was kind of boring, i enjoyed myself quite a lot.I went to China.It was my first time sitting the airplane and going overseas without my parents. It was a really good experience for me to learn indepence as I had to depend on myself to do things.When we are at China,we will go to one person's "house" and party until it is lights out.It is really very fun.Almost everyday at China, we went sightseeing in different tourist attractions.We also went to a school in Shanghai to learn about how they learn.After I came back to Singapore, I went to my student care everyday except the weekends.It was quite boring from then now until the day my student care brought us out for an outing.We went to East Coast Park and Jurong Bird Park.By the way, when I went to china my other friends went to a camp.
Everyday at the student care, I have to do work and read at my student care.Everyday, after we have our tea-break,we go to a nearby playground to play for about 2 hours.My mother assigns work for me to do because I want to prepare for my upcoming CA2!!!!

My holidays

During the school holidays, i went to china with my school mates, teachers and principal for a china immersion programme to let us know some of the children there. We also visited many places during our trip there. It was very fun but some of my friends miss their parents so much that they cried. When we reached the Shanghai hotel, it was so creepy that most of the girls including one boy cried(not me).At first, we almost could'nt find our room as it was like a maze.

My holiday is all about sleep, watch television, play and study. Most of the time spent on is all on computer and sleep. Usually, I only spent about one and a half hour taking a nap, but I spent one and a half hour taking a nap in the holiday. My Holiday

My Holidays

During my holidays it was so boring.I only went to watch a movie.It is called pirates of the carribean at world's end.Ok lah.I also attended a math workshop as the teachers recommended diffferent types of solving methods for problem sums.We also had to challenge other groups and earn points.My group was third position.Oh ya i also been for a p5 camp.It was held at changi coast adventure.I had alot of fun playing in the sea and we had life jackets on.To gain sea confidence, all of us has to stay afloat on water.As a non-swimmer, it was really fun but scary at first.Then we went sea rafting and some of the people on the raft had to go into the water.Next was cannoing.It was fun paddling in the water.We also had a chance to stand on it.We alaso did absile line and flying fox.WAHHHH the flying fox was so shook.We ended the camp by area cleaning then it was time to say goodbye.

Next, i had homework from school and i had a haircut.The rest are all eat, sleep, study and play.I also been to the park to exercise.But now school is open holidays are over, i have to wake up early.I cant wait for the next holidays to come.

Though my holidays are quite boring, I think it is a meaningful one.
Each day, I have to do tons and tons of assignments! It is stressful, but I m preparing for my CA2!!!Luckily, I have a break. The whole p5 level(except those who went to China), had a camp. It is fun, though I had to gather my courage to do some things.
The flying fox was the best among all activities. It really seems like I am flying.We had sea rafting,sea kayaking and many more. We slept in dormetries.At first, I thought where we slept is going to be comfortable,but I was wrong.When I lie down on my sleeping bag,arghhh!!!it is so hard!!!I like the campfire too.We sang songs n a teacher(I don't really know who),lit up the fire.It is the first campfire I had been to before.
After we came home,I quickly took a shower(for it is very muddy at the camp).After that, I went out to have lunch.Yummy!!!The reat of the holiday I stayed at home.However,my mum manged to let me play computer games.yay!!!

I think that the chinese civilisation is an exciting topic as I am a chinese and I should learn more about the past and how the chinese live. It takes me back to the past to see how chinese bulidings were build and how does a chinese junk look like. It is so exciting. Let me tell you something about the junk. When water enters a certain part of the junk, it will only flood the part where there is a hole. Amazing isn't it? The junk also has moveable and unmovevable parts.


WOW!!!!!!!!! I didn't know that art is one of the chinese favourites. Even the emporer learns it. I wish I could learn more about the Chinese Civilisation. =)

If the heart is bad,it will be given to the monster ammid,who will consume the heart.

For ancient civilisation, i am doing on china.I reasearched that chinese tradition named the first dynasty xia.There are different dynasty like xia ,shang,qin, han,tang ,song dynasty and many many more.there is the yellow river.There is also caligraphy,litretal and art.In the past, china use to write on bamboo using brushes.Their handwritting wre very neat.There is also a forbidden city.It consits of 800 buildings and 8,886 rooms.It covers 720,000 square metres.It is built for the kings and his family and no one is allowed to enter but now is it for tourist attraction.For more info go google or aiya anything hehe!

I think the SA1 exams are tricky , not hard .I felt that I did not do well as i made numerous carless mistakes. I believe as long as we work harder and put in effort for our exams ,we can get good marks . GOOD LUCK for your exams everyone !

When I was WALKING to get my paper, I had a horrible feelin' that i will FAIL. it was scary, especially Math as I had not finished my paper. i got my booklet A first, it was stated 15/20. but there was a problem so i got 14/20. When I got my booklet B, I was so surprise. when I was in Primary 1, I scored 93/100, 96/100 & 98/100, but now I had only 41/80. But again it had mistaked so it was 48/80. total I got was ...62.0/100.During the June holidays I really have to study harder...especially MATHS!!

Halo fellow frens.u r reading jon n jordain's reflections on our exam *sob* *sob*......

i can say tis is my(jon's)1st exp on a big fall.....i failed my MT was very atrocious(correct me if i spelt wrongly pls correct me..) i felt like crying *sob* *sob*

although i did badly 4 my MT, my english n maths......eh........so~so (eng 82.7/100. math 91/100)

my maths was actually 82/100 but i fought on till i squeezed out A* out of teacher!:P
i can also safely say my english went quite good except my compo.(oops):p

I felt that the exams were quite difficult,especially maths and science.My parents were disappointed but my english was not bad.During my june holidays,i will read up on my notes and do more work in preparation for CA2.

SA1 reflections

For my SA1, i did quite badly though.All my results have drop tremendously and i am feeling quite down.Although my parents ask me to work harder, i feel that they are angry with me and could blow up any minute.I think i should study harder during my june holidays and read the heuristics of maths and do more tests papers of english.I hope i can fare well in my next exam CA2.

How I felt About my SA1 examination

How do feel about my SA1 examination? Well,it is a bit disappointing,though. My mother said that I deprove a lot.I agree with her totally.Expecially my chinese.
My chinese was awful!It is the worst examination results I ever got!At first, I do not even know how to face my parents and tell them my results.However I managed to gather up my courage and tell them the truth.After the higher chinese examintion,everyone shout in joy.Yeah!!!
I was so sad.However,I will work hard and try to improve on my next examination!

My Reflectionz 4 Sa1

Well......My results were quite bad for SA1........especially for science I had a terribly bad results. I almost went down to band 3. Luckily I had some marks added here and there........For maths........................................................................i really don't know what to say.....Although it was an 'A' i feel that I can do better. I am quite happy for my English and Chinese marks. It was quite well done. Although i did not feel that the Higher Mother Tongue paper was difficult but my marks was only 70/100. Perhaps it is because i never took a HMT paper before............

Hi Guys,
I was not really happy with my exam results. I did horribly bad. I nearly killed myself! But I thought the papers were difficult, except English!
I did worse at higher mother tongue, I nearly jumped off the building, but too bad, I was on the first floor.
When I returned home, I faced the music, my mom nagged on and on! She did not want to sign my paper! Bet that happened to everyone!
Probably, the only thing I can do now is work harder and try to quit my habit of last minute revision.
Valavan, you are going to lose out! Good Luck in your CA2 5C!

Yo friends.....

How's your exams?? some did well, some did bad and some average.... I did average and I think it is okay.... I know that you all felt stress up by your parents as they asked you to study, study , study and nag nag nag like old grandmothers but all this is just for your future. You have to study hard to have a good job next time.

I got a tip from my maple friend and i will tell you.......

he said not to study so hard like crazy for PSLE as when you forget something, you start to panic... he said it happened to his friend before..

I think this tip will work and i hope u will listen to it =)
